GIAC Testing Environment Options

All GIAC certification exams are web-based and required to be taken in a proctored environment.

Per the “GIAC Exam Testing Modality” clause of the GIAC Candidate Agreement both options may not be available for every attempt.

Please Note: Due to U.S. sanctions and export compliance regulations, GIAC certification exams cannot be administered—either in-person or online—in the following countries and regions: North Korea, Russia, Syria, Crimea Region of Ukraine, Donetsk People's Republic (Ukraine), Luhansk People's Republic (Ukraine), Cuba, Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, Venezuela, Yemen, Somalia, China (includes Hong Kong), Iraq, and Palestine. We appreciate your understanding and compliance with these legal restrictions.

On-Site Testing

Pearson VUE is an industry leader and offers more than 3,500 testing centers worldwide. On-site, in-person testing works best for those looking for an independent site, away from distractions with provided computers.

Remote Testing

ProctorU provides secure live and automated online proctoring services GIAC certification exams. Remote testing works best for those looking for the convenience of testing wherever they are and have the necessary equipment to do so.
